Output terms
Last updated 19 October 2026
These terms explain what you can and cannot assume about the MIDI and other files Midify produces for you. They are part of our terms of service. We have kept them short and plain on purpose.
We claim no rights in your MIDI
Capify, Inc. claims no ownership of, and no licence to, the MIDI files, note data, chord charts or other output the service produces from your audio. Whatever rights exist in that output are not ours.
Rights in the song stay with its owners
A transcription of a song is a copy or arrangement of that song's composition. If you transcribe music written by someone else, the rights in the melody, harmony, lyrics and recording still belong to the people who own them, and using the MIDI in a release, a sample pack, a sync placement or anything else beyond personal use may need their permission.
We do not offer a commercial-use guarantee. We cannot grant you rights in a song we do not own, and nothing in the output changes who owns the music it was transcribed from. If you transcribe your own music, you are in the same position you were in before.
You confirm you may process the audio
By uploading or recording audio, you confirm that you own it or have the permission you need to process it with Midify. Do not upload audio you are not allowed to use.
No training on your uploads
By default, nothing you upload or record is used to train any model. If we ever offer a way to contribute your own recordings to training, it will be opt-in, separate from sign-up, limited to audio you own, and recorded with your consent each time.
How long we keep files
Uploads, separated stems and MIDI are deleted 30 days after the job, or sooner when you delete them or ask us to. Quick mode and hum to MIDI run on your device and are never uploaded.
